Just Do It!

What changes would you make and how would your life look different?

Have you ever woke up in the morning saying, “that is it! I am ready to do this”?  Then you find yourself not following through by the end of the week, or even worse, the end of the day?  I am the first one to admit that I have definitely fallen into this trap a few times in my life.  Have you ever really stopped and asked yourself why this happens?

Change is never a matter of Ability; it’s always a matter of motivation!

The fact of the matter is until you can reach a point where change is a complete must, the chances of you following through are probably pretty slim.  When you can make change a total must that is when you get leverage on yourself.  When you have leverage you can actually change the way you view something.  So instead of thinking or saying, “I really am going to try to do this”; you can now say “failing to change right now would equal massive, immediate and unbearable pain.” Now we are talking.  Who wants massive, immediate and unbearable pain?  No one.  The one key word underlined here is the word “Try”.  Yoda says, “Do or do not. There is no try”.  Nike’s famous tag line is “Just do it”.  When you use the word try you are not really committed.  You are giving yourself a get out of jail free card right from the beginning.

The beautiful part is all you really have to do is truly decide, because when you truly decide you cut yourself off from all other possibilities.  Now you have leverage and can absolutely be unstoppable.

Spring is right around the corner.  Can you believe we are almost a quarter of the way through this year?  Spring is all about re-birth and a fresh start.  So stop beating yourself up for already abandoning that goal you set for January and instead get some leverage and give yourself a fresh start for spring.

It is never too late to course correct!

“I found that every single successful person I’ve ever spoken to had a turning point and the turning point was where they made a clear, specific, unequivocal decision that they were not going to live like this anymore.  Some people make that decision at 15 and some make it at 50 and most never make it at all.”
